All member are required to register online for Wednesday practices prior to arrival.
The number of registrations/signups will be capped at 35 swimmers, due to safety concerns and requirements that have been raised by Kroc's athletics director.
How do I register?
- Registration each week will open at 5 p.m. Monday
- Log into your account
- Click on the "Calendar" tab, or scroll down to the "Upcoming Practices" section on the home page
- Click on the event you'd like to register for ("Wednesday Practice @ Kroc")
- Click "Register Now"
- Select "Sign up yourself" and click "Next"
- Click "Complete Registration"
Note: If practice is full, you may click the option to Join The Wait-list (which you will see instead of a "Register Now" button)
- When a space becomes available for you, you will receive an email notification.
- Once you receive that email, you will have 8 hours to register before the space is offered to the next person on the wait-list.
What happens if I don't register?
Only swimmers who have registered prior to practice will be permitted to swim.
What happens if I register but can't make it?
Cancellations will be permitted until 2 p.m. Wednesday. After that, your cancellation is considered late and you will need to contact the Webmaster directly via email (webmaster@dsst.org) or direct message. If you are registered for a Wednesday practice but do not show up it is considered a no-show. Late-cancellations and no-shows are frowned upon and may carry penalties.
We strongly recommend you make sure you will be free before registering for Wednesday practice, and that if you must cancel you do so before the 2 p.m. deadline. We want to make sure that as many of your teammates as possible get the opportunity to swim!
What happens if I repeatedly cancel late or don't show up?
We understand that life is unpredictable and sometimes things happen beyond our control. Our policy is to allow members a maximum of two late-cancellations per calendar quarter. Upon the third late-cancellation, you will not be permitted to register for the following four Wednesday practices. Similarly, if you no-show a Wednesday practice that is at max capacity (i.e., it has a wait-list), you will not be permitted to register for the following four Wednesday practices.
I was told I'm not permitted to register for a certain Wednesday practice, but I can still see the "Register Now" button, is this a mistake?
Short answer: No, and to save the Webmaster from a certain headache, we ask that you refrain from registering if you know you're not permitted to do so.
Long answer: At this time, enforcement of the Wednesday practice ban has not been automated due to the limitations of ClubExpress. In other words, enforcement is manually done by the Webmaster. If you've been notified that you're not permitted to register for a certain Wednesday practice, and you go ahead and register anyways, the Webmaster will manually cancel your registration (even if the event is not at full capacity).
So can I sign up every single Wednesday?
Absolutely. If there's an open space, you can register for it.
We do ask that if you have already attended several Wednesdays in a row, and if you are able to attend several other practices per week, that you consider letting others register before claiming a space. We know that for some of our teammates, Wednesdays are the best (or only) day that fits their schedule.
What about other practices, like Fridays?
Only Wednesday practices require registration at this time. Other practices remain unchanged and you are can simply show up without registering in advance.
Will it be like this forever?
We will only require registration for practices when necessary. If attendance numbers fall, and we are regularly below capacity, then we would drop this requirement.
What happened?
Wednesdays have gotten too popular (i.e., crowded), even after adding 2 more lanes this year - to the point that Kroc has flagged this as a safety violation.
